Dragon Sounds — Reference

Really just for my own ideas, but Nicole, if you’re interested, these are the different sounds I imagine Metanath and Mosiliath to use. BTW, the snorts and moans/groans link is the same video. I never realized where most of these sounds came from until I looked it up. Pretty neat. :)

  • Rumbles: The sound that starts at 1:13.
  • Snorts: The sounds between 2:29-2:38.
  • Moans/Groans: The sounds between 2:16-2:28.
  • Bugles/Squeals: Naturally, the first thing I thought of. Bugles are lower in pitch for these dragons, the squeals are higher and not as long a call as an actual elk bugle.
  • Roars: The one that starts at 0:13.
  • Purring: Something kind of like this, just a more continuous sound.

I think this is all so far, but if there is more, I will definitely add them in the list. :D

Working aquatic-elephants like Rajan used to be a regular sight in the Andaman Islands, south of India, but this 60-year-old five tonne Asian elephant is the last of his kind. Thanks to the introduction of motor boats and other energy-saving technology, Rajan no longer needs to swim miles between islands to work for his masters, but can now enjoy swimming purely for pleasure. Rajan still swims for ten minutes twice a day, completing about 500 yards before heading back to shore. Brazilian Photographer, Daniel Botelho, 30, travelled to the Andaman Islands in the Indian Ocean after hearing stories of islanders swimming with the giant beasts. He said: “I almost got killed by the elephant during one photo shoot. Suddenly a swell came and took me and the elephant by surprise. I was stuck in the sand because of the crash of the wave. He did his best not to kill me - I felt him rolling on top and away from me.” Picture: Daniel Botelho / Barcroft Media

WHAT this is so cute. I’m so happy for Rajan. c:

tattoos, coffee, and a little bit of Kirk Douglas

I have three planned.

  1. Western dragon tattoo, to be commissioned, for my back/shoulder blade.
  2. Blood diamond tattoo (see diamond poster below somewhere), perhaps on the underside of my right wrist.
  3. Monoceros constellation tattoo, not sure where.

Umm…umm…I could always do some sort of poem tattoo. I’d probably pick a line from “Annabel Lee” in honor of my sister, who was named after that poem.

Or maybe I’d get “galaslaeg” tattooed on me. In elvish script.

Or maybe I’d GET ALL THE TATTOOS!

I still think getting an elephant tattoo on my butt is a superb idea. It gets wrinkly as you get older! Who says tattoos look bad when you get old? Mine gets more life-like!

So many cool looking tattoos, I want them all.

*salivates*

I didn’t care much for the instant Starbucks coffee until I added brown sugar. Ooooo I can feel the energy already. If I keep drinking it in this manner, I will either turn my teeth black, or lose my teeth entirely, or perhaps both in that order.

Also, I am supremely enjoying watching Kirk Douglas shake it whilst singing sailor songs while I watch “20,000 Leagues Under The Sea”. I am in love with this movie now.

He captured my heart when I first saw “Spartacus”. Damn that fine man.
